Frocktober 2018 – Let’s do this!

October 1, 2018

Frocktober 2018 is here! Can you believe Frocktober is now in its 12th year? Wear a dress, raise funds for ovarian cancer research. It was that simple message and motivation that had me hooked on Frocktober back in 2012 and this year I’m back, wearing a frock a day and hoping to raise $500+ for the OCRF. My seventh time in a row!

I’ve been pregnant twice, breastfeeding twice and then there were those rare years when I could wear what I wanted (haha!) during Frocktober, but each year it’s the same motivation behind my frocking – raising funds for ovarian cancer research.

You know how you can be tested early for breast cancer, skin cancer, cervical cancer, etc? Most of the time you make an appointment with your doctor or clinic, and have a routine exam or test. There is currently no such early detection test for ovarian cancer, and that is what we are striving to achieve by raising funds through Frocktober.

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal of gynaecological cancers. Without an early detection test, it claims another life every eight hours.

Isn’t that scary? It scares the crap out of me. Now I have two daughters and I hope they never have to face the horror that is ovarian cancer. So let’s do this!

Can you sponsor me? You can donate any amount right here, and it all goes straight to the OCRF. $2, $20 or $200 – whatever the amount I’ll be forever grateful for your support and so will the OCRF. Thank you to all of my wonderfully generous sponsors in previous years.

I’ll also be donating what I would spend on clothes and shoes and accessories in a month, and at the end of the month I’m hoping to sell some of my favourite dresses I own with all funds to go to the OCRF (watch this space!). I’ll also be featuring each dress I wear on Instagram here and also weekly, here on the blog.

ONE WOMAN DIES EVERY 8 HOURS FROM OVARIAN CANCER.

And please, if you can donate, I’d absolutely love you to sponsor me here. Thanks a million. xx

In my featured image I am wearing the Little Party Dress Charlotte dress, $69.95, I’m wearing size 8.  {kindly gifted}
