My 17 Summer Maternity Must-Haves

April 11, 2019

This has been my third pregnancy however it has been my first over the height of summer – and what a summer it was. I think we are actually still feeling the end of it now, and it’s almost mid-April! We had weeks of 30+ degree days and being in my second and third trimester was not fun, to put it lightly.

We also had Hannah starting school and thus I had to get out of the house every single day for drop off and pick up, thus staying at home in my togs or undies was not an option, unfortunately! (Hah.)

So, what did I wear? Well, I thought today I’d compile my fave things to wear during these few past months and why I liked wearing them, as my 17 summer maternity must-haves.

*Maive and Bo wrap dresses – this is the Marley wrap dress AUD$65 (read more about Maive and Bo in my blog post here) (23 weeks pregnant here). The good thing about the Maive and Bo range is most of it is breastfeeding friendly as well.

*Little Party Dress Frances dress AUD$64.95 – I’ve worn this dress from the early days before I could tell anyone I was pregnant – up until now at 39 weeks. I wear size 8, it’s a very oversized style.

*Stylefeed Paris shirt dress AUD$89 (I’m wearing S, oversized style) This is not actually a maternity dress – it is designed for breastfeeding. However, I found it perfect to wear while pregnant and it is a fabulous length and quality which made me feel good. (35 weeks pregnant here)

*Feather & Noise Isabella tunic/dress AUD$59 This one is not maternity at all however had been one of my go-tos on days when I can’t be bothered wearing anything – it’s so floaty and oversized, it is comfortable and light. I wear size 10 and it is very oversized. It still fits now and I am 39 weeks. (29 weeks pregnant in the pic below).

*Active Truth bike shorts AUD$104.99 These are amazing for the days when you feel like you need a bit more support. I wore them casually with slides and a t-shirt for a comfy outfit. (33 weeks pregnant in the image below.)

*Exotica Atheletica tights – made to order AUD$109 These are fab – so comfy and perfect to create a fun casual look. Or you could wear them for working out. Haha.

*Chasing Case leopard print dress AUD$69 – This is one of my fave dresses! I’m wearing size S and it still fits me now at 39 weeks. It’s so comfortable and I always get compliments wearing it. (28 weeks pregnant below)

*Little Party Dress Cate wrap dress AUD$69.95. I’m wearing size 12 here – I’d suggest to go up a size if you intend on wearing it into late pregnancy. This one I loved wearing as it was stylish and fun, and on a day when I felt awful it pepped me up a lot. (37 weeks pregnant here)

*Style Me Over Sasha dress AUD$69.95 I’m wearing M here at 35 weeks – this dress is so uber comfy I didn’t want to take it off. It was perfect for the hottest days and I’ll also be able to layer it up with a denim jacket and sneakers as well. (35 weeks pregnant here)

Styling You The Label Simone shirt AUD$169 – this bad boy is made in Australia and I bought it for a number of reasons – it’s comfy AF, it’s so on trend YET classic, I’ll be wearing it for years to come, it’s breastfeeding friendly, it goes perfectly with jeans and lastly I have the animal print shorts from Nikki’s range and I can’t wait to wear them together!

*SheIn gold skirt AUD$28.95 I’m wearing XL – I’ve worn this many times now over the bump and I ALWAYS get compliments! It’s one of those eye-catching numbers that has people stopping you to ask about it. And why is this a maternity-must have? Well because it allows you to wear those t-shirts that might be getting a litttttle bit too short! And plus it makes you feel fab.

*Berlei maternity bras AUD$59.95 – $64.95 – these are so comfortable for me and I love how high quality they feel. I have a wide assortment of maternity bras – and they all serve different purposes or are good for different outfits. Kmart, Target and Hot Milk are my other faves. (36 weeks here)

*Frankie and Dash dress – sold out. If you can find a dress like this that fits and makes you feel fab – BUY IT. (22 weeks pregnant below)

*Chasing Case vest AUD$59 – I know I’m focussing on summer maternity – but this vest is amazing! I had some many compliments when I wore it, it’s one of those pieces that makes you feel and look a million bucks and is so good for cooler days or nights when you need a little warmth but you’re still burning up with your little on-board heater. Haha. (36 weeks pregnant below).

*Avarcas Australia shoes – yes I am an ambassador for Avarcas but I loved them before I became the ambassador because THEY COMFY. They’ve been perfect for maternity as well as with no buckles or fastenings you can just slip them on and out the door you go. Plus they’re leather so cool and comfy.

*Chasing Case duster cape – sold out. Unfortunately this one is sold out but this style of garment is a must-have for my maternity and breastfeeding wardrobes. I’ve packed this one into my hospital bag – it’s so fab as a cover up over some comfy pants or leggings and a nursing singlet. And also doubles as a dressing gown over PJs.

Jeanswest maternity denim shorts – these seem to be sold out online however were so comfortable up until only a few weeks ago (when I couldn’t stand to wear anything under the bump anymore!). Wearing here with a Chasing Case top. (28 weeks pregnant here).

So there you have it – my 17 summer maternity must-haves! What were your summer maternity must-haves, if you had them?
