I love a good kaftan, and thankfully these days you don’t need to save them for beach days or tropical holidays, they can easily be worn year round (thanks Camilla!). Just simply choose one with autumn tones and pair with some lighter autum/winter shoes and accessories.
Today when the husby and I woke up and realised we had nothing to eat for breakfast, we decided to go out for brekky. We love going out for breakfast however haven’t in a while because of the difficulty in keeping a two-year old happy and occupied whilst awaiting bacon and eggs. (Audrey is so easy at the age she is at, I simply feed her, pop her in the wrap or sling and she goes to sleep!). However, we thought we would chance it this morning and I took the opportunity to wear this digital print kaftan from Spray Tan Wear (gifted).
Designed to wear after spray tans, these kaftans are very comfortable and I think dressy enough to wear to any occasion. They’re also a great midi length (on me, I’m 158cm tall), so can easily be worn for many different occasions. I can also pull it down at the front to breastfeed, however it would potentially not be possible for everyone, based on your shoulder width etc.
Today paired it with these ASOS suede-look, low-heel lace up sandals that I just love; they’re the perfect height for comfort and yet make me feel a bit more dressed up. You can also easily add a leather jacket to this outfit for even cooler days, or a long, lightweight trench coat. What makes this kaftan work so well for autumn/winter is the dark print and the use of black – which goes back brilliantly with autumnal toned shoes. I wouldn’t necessarily weigh it down with boots, (perhaps an open toe boot would be the exception) however it works really well with a lace up shoe or block heel.
(And if you’re wondering, Hannah was very well-behaved! It was helped by a fast-arriving babycino and a colouring book :))
Are you a kaftan lover? Have you tried wearing a kaftan in autumn?
