We’re only half-way through spring, yet here in Brisbane we’re experiencing mid-summer weather with tops of 30+ degrees and high humidity. Gah! I wouldn’t mind if it was mid-summer, yet I’m really missing some gorgeous spring weather right about now.
All of our hot and sticky weather has me prepping my wardrobe for warm days and balmy nights – light dresses, throw-on tops and easy to wear bottoms. How is the weather where you are?
I’ve spoken about Chasing Case before – here with a gorge wear-everywhere jacket and here with striped tops and jeans, and today I’m bringing you a compilation of five of my favourite Chasing Case pieces – and I think you’ll LOVE them.
We’re talking throw-on and go dress, the dress-up or down dress, the comfy and cool shorts, the striped tee and the perfect high waisted jeans. I’ve paired them with some simple accessories to show how they could be styled, but really, these pieces will be your go-tos.
Throw them on and you’re out the door. As with all of the Chasing Case range, each piece is super affordable and high quality. Everything I’ve featured is under $80, and I’ve washed and worn these pieces and they’ve come up really well. You’ve got to love that!
So, let’s get into the five essentials you’ll need this spring-summer.
1. The striped tee AUD$39. {I’m wearing S}
I’ve actually featured this tee before (here) and I had to include it in this list as it really is that good. It’s soft, comfortable and easy to wash and wear. It’s slightly oversized which I like, and the navy base is a bit different – not just your usual white with stripes. I’ve paired it with the shorts and jeans below.
2. The perfect high waisted jeans AUD$59. {I’m wearing 10}
These jeans are just really flattering. In my opinion, they look and feel much more expensive than they are. The feel firm and yet with the stretch they are comfortable, too. I’ve included them in my spring-summer essentials for all of you summer-states babes – although I do like the option of wearing jeans on cooler spring days and for night time events, too.
3. The comfy and cool shorts AUD$49. {I’m wearing 10}
Shorts are my go-to on days when it’s just too hot but I have a million and one things to do, especially if that day includes a trip to the park or a playdate for the kids. Linen is big news this season – and not just for the resort-hopping set. Linen dresses, shirts, skirts and shorts are new season updates and in this fabric you’ll be on trend – yet practical, too.
4. The throw-on and go anywhere dress AUD$59. {I’m wearing S}
This dress is amazing. The print is sublimely flattering, and it’s also cool and floaty. And so easy to dress up, too. I love the sleeve detailing which brings it into the new season. Love.
5. The dress up or down dress AUD$79. {I’m wearing S}
It might seem funny have have a white dress as an essential if you’re a mum, but if you happen to be spending time away from the kids, a white dress is a great option as to me, it says ‘KID FREE!’. However, this dress is also very high quality and can be thrown in the washing machine – so I’d wear it around the kids too (and it’s fully-button down so would be great for breastfeeding). Just add some tan sandals, a hat…you’re done! I’ve decided to show you how this could be styled up by pairing it with some dressy accessories – perfect for spring racing season.
