Boho cotton top

Boho Cotton Top | What I’m Wearing

March 12, 2015

Seriously. It’s nearly half-way through March and we’re still feeling the summer vibes here in Brisbane. When I say summer, I mean 30 degree + heat, with a bazillion percent humidity. Well, not exactly, but sometimes it feels like that. Today, I’d already decided I would take Hannah to the park to burn off some of her newfound toddler energy, so off we went to the new Frew Park in Milton. Great park, by the way, Brisbanites. Anyway, I was already hot at 7am so I took the chance to wear this amazingly light, comfortable and breezy cotton top by new label Ankoa, which is based on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Ankoa knows its stuff. The prints are unique to the label, designed and produced ethically overseas and in their studio in Australia. Their garments are luxuriously boho without the hefty price tag you would expect. I was super excited to be contacted by Ankoa, as I love supporting small businesses where I can and especially those producing something unique and beautiful, at the right price point!

This top will also look amazing with jeans and a cardigan in winter, and as it has grey, blue and green throughout, it’s right on trend with this season’s colour palette. I’m actually in sweet, sweet love with this top. Today I modernised it by adding modern slides, some cats-eye sunglasses, and ripped boyfriend shorts. I quite like the justapositon of the floaty top with the modern slides and ripped jeans. But of course, you could also play up the look with blue denim and tan shoes, or wouldn’t it look gorgeous with white jeans? How would you wear it?

I hope you’ve had a great week so far.
