Last week I posted my favourite tips for shopping with a baby and I mentioned that the folks over at DFO Jindalee* had asked me to discover their centre by completing a shopping challenge – ‘what could I find for under $100?’ I will be completing three challenges, and the first was if I could find a Christmas party outfit for under that magic $100 price point.
So, last week I took the drive out to DFO Jindalee (it’s on the western side of Brisbane – for Brisbanites the easiest way there is Milton Road and then the Centenery Highway from the city – easy) and thought I’d see what I could find. I must admit here: it took me three trips to complete this challenge, only because I am currently dealing with a difficult 11.5 month old (wonder week, teething, growth spurt, I don’t know which of these is the culprit but please leave my daughter IMMEDIATELY. Please and thank you). So all up it took me only a couple of hours, and to be honest the hardest part was narrowing it down! I hadn’t been out there for a while so there were lots of new things for me to take a sticky at. My top tip for shopping at outlets is check the shops you wouldn’t normally. For example, I found these sunglasses at Just Jeans and I saw a really great straw Panama hat at Rivers that I am totally buying next trip!
So anyway, what did I end up with? Ok. For my $100 I walked out with two complete outfits, including shoes. I wore the first outfit yesterday to the girls’ lunch I mentioned last week. It was a coordinating top and skirt set which I had been after for a long time – $10 per piece, plus some black (COMFORTABLE! #winning) heels for $47.95, and a pair of sunnies in a shape I had been after for a while for $5 (part of a two for $10 deal). Total $72.95! Here’s what the first outfit looked like. (Check back for the second outfit and my other two challenges!)
Wearing:
DFO Jindalee Supre outlet coordinate set, AUD$20 | DFO Jindalee Shoe Rack Inniu heels AUD$47.95 (full price here) | DFO Jindalee Just Jeans outlet sunglasses AUD$5 (similar here) | My own Mnologie clutch.
{*Disclosure: this is a sponsored post for DFO Jindalee, yet all clothing, shoes and accessories are completely of my choosing and opinions are mine.}
What do you think about my cheap and cheerful Christmas party outfit?
