Time Flies When You’re Having Fun | 28 Week Bump Update

August 28, 2015

Either I’ve slipped into some sort of time vortex or I don’t know what, because there is only officially 12 weeks to go. Yes, do you remember when I was like ‘hi guys, I’m 15 weeks pregnant’? That was 13 weeks ago. WHAT ON EARTH. Well, I’m now 28 weeks and things seem to be moving quite quickly for me, I hope they are for you too as I’d hate for this to be one of those Kim Kardashian type pregnancies that seem to go on forever.

So, did anything change this month? Well, I definitely feel a LOT bigger, and all of that weight that I hadn’t put on certainly made up for lost time in the past month. The baby is also moving quite a bit and is an active little thing. Not sure where the head is at right now however I’ll find out in two weeks when I visit the obstetrician again. I’ve been craving KFC again, which is honestly my weirdest craving as I don’t actually like it or eat it when not pregnant (unless exceptionally hungover in the ‘old’ days). I’m just not a junk food person. However, now their chips are on my mind 99% of the time, and I’ve only given in once. Or twice. This month we’ve actually done some preparation for the baby too – in buying a rocking chair. That’s kind of it. But it’s something! So here goes, the 28 week bump update.

How far along?: 28 weeks yesterday.
Total weight gain/loss: about 9kg.
Maternity clothes: still rocking my Baby Bump and Beyond jeggings; I also have a new pair of jeans and a dress from Jeanswest maternity (note to pregnant mums – their maternity range is a lot better than it used to be), a gorgeous singlet from Blossom & Glow and a beautiful new dress from Mammabelle – (I’m also running a competition to win one too – more details here). I’m still fitting into a lot of my old tops and dresses.

Sleep: a little bit more – about 6 hours per night.
Best moment this week: finishing the glucose test…omg that’s a shocker. I have to admit I didn’t mind the two hours’ of just sitting between the tests though! Also, Hannah has taken to calling my belly ‘baby’ and kisses it. It’s pretty cute.
Food cravings: KFC chips. Coffee. Scrambled eggs. Vietnamese salad.
Food aversions: pork (which I don’t eat usually, anyway), steak, steamed vegetables (however I eat them anyway!).
Gender: still a surprise.
Pregnancy symptoms: sore hips, asthma, a little bit of morning sickness again (wahhhh).
What I miss: having a waist, midi skirts, wine, double shot coffees at 11am.
What I’m looking forward to: meeting this little human and feeling how small its hands are. Is that weird?!

What food did you crave while pregnant?
