There’s four words I’d probably not have strung together before I start style blogging: sneakers with a dress. Back when I used to walk to work, I in fact used to wear workout gear and then change into corporate gear at work, because I just couldn’t stomach wearing sneakers with anything but workout gear!
Now, sneakers are well and truly pride of place in my shoe-drobe. Last season I played with the idea of wearing sneakers more often, and this year I’ve decided to make the look my own, well, because COMFORT.
When SurfStitch contacted me to see if I would like to check out their (very extensive) range, I must admit I was drawn straight to the sneaker section. All of my faves were there, and after much deliberation (seriously, a week!) I decided to finally go with the Vans lace up style sneakers. I’ve had Vans before (in the early 2000s) and I just liked their low profile style.
And even better – this style was on sale at SurfStitch! I bagged these babies for $69.97, which is a bargain in anyone’s books. SurfStitch is super easy to navigate and the buying process was very easy. Shipping was also super fast, which is a bonus.
Today I’ve paired them with this super cute dusty pink dress from Shabby Sisters – I do have in fact this dress in two other colours and this pink is just amazing. The dress can also be worn back to front which is super versatile.
How I make the look work is with a few details – simple makeup, sporty hair, a watch and simple sunnies to go along with the 90s slip style dress and sneakers. I feel a bit like Monica or Rachel from Friends and I am totally happy with that! What do you think? If you’re after more sneaker outfit Inspo, check out my Pinterest Board here.
