I’m going to hazard a guess that every woman reading this has a handbag. Is it on the floor next to you, hanging on the door, hanging on your arm, thrown onto a table? And yet, I do not write about handbags very often here at Pretty Chuffed – why? Because I find it so difficult to find an affordable yet stylish everyday bag.
My everyday bag of choice has changed a lot since I had children – what once used to be a small tote used to carry my wallet, keys and phone (and maybe a few lipsticks) has morphed into something that also carries toys, snacks, drink bottles, nappies and spare changes of clothes too. I’ve spoken about nappy bags before and how I’m not much of a specific ‘nappy bag’ person – I find them too big and often very heavy. Hence, I’m always on the lookout for a medium-sized handbag, an everyday bag that is light, will be able to carry lots of ‘mum odds and ends’, yet is still stylish. A difficult combination of requirements, it would seem. So you can imagine my delight when I came across the Monaco Hobo from Caramel & Co. Spoiler alert – it has it all!
Enter now to win a Monaco Hobo bag! Simply comment on this blog post (below) what colour bag you would like, and why!
The lady behind Caramel & Co, Susan, started the Brisbane-based label after realising life really is too short. When her son was very young, he suffered a very serious health issue and although he has now recovered, Caramel & Co is Susan and her family’s way of shouting to the world that life can change in minutes, and to dream big, and believe in yourself.
The Caramel & Co line is all about affordable, yet functional and stylish handbags and clutches that will easily fit into your lifestyle. The Monaco Hobo is a functional everyday bag that will fit just about everything you could want to carry. I’ve tested it out by filling it with my everyday essentials – wallet, phone, keys, nappies and wipes, snacks and drink bottles and as you can see, there is plenty of room (side note: don’t you just love the hot pink lining!).
I love this stone colour as it goes with everything. If you’re more of a black bag person, there is also black, but do check out the navy and hot pink for something different, and to make a statement. The bag itself is a very high quality polyurethane, or vegan leather, as I like to say! It’s absolutely buttery soft and feels very expensive.
The best news is, the Monaco Hobo is currently $59.95 (usually $99.95) – a very special Christmas offer. I’m going to nab a navy one for my mother-in-law, I think she’ll love it just as much as I do.
Today, I’ve styled this gorgeous bag with an animal print shirt dress from Little Party Dress, tan heels and sunglasses. I love how the stone colour brings out the warmth in the dress and shoes. It’s Hannah’s third birthday today, so we’re planning on doing some of her favourite things – playing, eating chips and drinking hot (warm) chocolates. This outfit will take me from breakfast to the park to a dinner with family.
So, do you want to get your hot little hands on one of these gorgeous bags? Of course you do!

December 9, 2016 at 9:04 amAfter 7 straight years of uni I’m finally about to start my first ‘real’ job as a Primary School Teacher and I have been searching everywhere for a fun but practical handbag that won’t break the bank. I would be pretty chuffed to stroll into school on my first day with this stone coloured beauty on my arm!
December 9, 2016 at 9:08 amI’d love a navy Monaco Hobo to carry around all the bits and bobs I need for my 3yr old and my newborn! I love the navy colour because it will always match my ‘mum uniform’ of blue jeans and a shirt 🙂
December 9, 2016 at 9:09 amStone or black I’m not fussy, I’d just love a bag that doesn’t look like the typical nappy bag and has some style but can carry the kitchen sink and everything else a mum has to take daily but can then just be a nice bag on days when I’m child free as it’s always a pain swapping out bags.
December 9, 2016 at 9:21 amStone Monaco Hobo
December 9, 2016 at 9:33 amDelightfully stylish for on the go-go
Practical pockets and room galore
This handbag equals fun for all!
I’m a new mum of a 9 week old & I would love a sleek, stylish bag instead of the bulky, heavy one I own. I would love the stone colour as it would add a classy neutral element to my uniform of striped tee & shorts (quite often the same ones from the day before!) Thanks!

December 9, 2016 at 10:24 amHow beautiful, and what a great price! The Stone is gorgeous and would be easily worn day to night. Thanks for the heads up Jasmine x
December 9, 2016 at 10:27 amOoooh stone! Or black! They are all gorgeous.
December 9, 2016 at 11:25 amI love the stone colour from caramel & co. Such a versatile colour to run from work to events with my boys. Love all your posts and watching your little one grow. They grow up so fast.
December 9, 2016 at 11:35 amStone! Like you I am a Mum and hate carrying two bags (my handbag and nappy bag). So I usually just end up carrying the nappy bag and throwing my things in it. Carrying the nappy bag makes me feel frumpy and I would LOVE a stylish bag to carry baby things and my things!I have been searching for ages for a nice bag to use as duel purpose, this bag seems to fit the bill perfectly!
December 9, 2016 at 11:42 amI have been looking for ages for a brown/tan ‘throw it all in’ bag.But I have got it all wrong….Stone is the colour for me. Thanks for the inspiration ?.
December 9, 2016 at 12:11 pmOhh these bags are gorgeous!! I would love the stone colour, so versatile and perfect for both summer and winter! ?
December 9, 2016 at 12:26 pmStone with hot pink lining please – versatile, stylish and sleek, with a cheeky, bright little streak!
December 9, 2016 at 2:33 pmOh my this is a gorgeous bag. Would love one in stone as it would go with everything. Would be great to stop using the nanny bag and start using a handbag that’s new and stylish.
December 9, 2016 at 3:08 pmOh wow! it seems you have found the perfect bag, I am getting one in stone regardless, my life needs it ? I have to stop following you, my credit card can’t handle too many more fabulous outfits!
December 9, 2016 at 3:10 pmHappy 3rd Birthday Hannah! xoxo
You’ll love it Lisa. It’s so light and easy to carry!! I’m really loving it. Haha! Thank you lovely xxx
December 9, 2016 at 3:28 pmIn desperate need of a new black hand bag that I can take to school on a daily basis! Yet to find that perfect bag but this…..this looks like it!
December 9, 2016 at 3:30 pmThat bag is simply amazing!! I would dearly love the stone. It looks stylish and sophisticated. I can see myself using this everyday. I would love to move away from safe black now that the kids are older and embrace the stone!
December 9, 2016 at 3:36 pmI need (note, it’s not a want) one of the stone coloured bags in my life! ? As you’ve stated, it’s so versatile and I think it’s time to ditch the nappy bag and replace it with one of these! How could I resist when you’ve made it look so appealing!
December 9, 2016 at 3:44 pmI d love a navy monaco hobo! Im a mum of a 15m old nd hav always been on the lookout for a carry all bag that is practical AND looks stylish! This seems to be the perfect answer!! Thanks for giving a chance to win this beauty 🙂
December 9, 2016 at 4:08 pmThis bag is beautiful and looks like it can hold so much, which is perfect for me. I can’t seem to find a bag that is practical as well as being stylish & affordable, and this looks like a great find. I’d be happy with either the black (as I don’t actually have a decent black handbag) or the stone colour. Both are gorgeous ?
December 9, 2016 at 5:06 pmI don’t like specific ‘nappy bags’ either. My current bag is falling apart, and with my youngest just about to turn 1 I’ve still got quite a long while with kids in nappies! It’s a tough choice on colour, I love the stone but I think navy is my favourite.
December 9, 2016 at 6:20 pmThis would be an ideal bag for this returning to work Mumma to look professional yet still be secretly full of baby bits / nappies / wipes / multiple toys + changes of clothes! I love all of them but I think I would have to go with the stone colour – really does go with everything!xx
December 9, 2016 at 11:37 pmI love the navy, it’s a great change from the neutrals I’d normally go for. And a great size to gracefully house all the bubs’ (5,2,1) bits and pieces for those rare occasions we actually leave the house 😉
December 10, 2016 at 9:34 pmBlack please! (‘Cause I’m going to buy the stoneone now) 😉
December 11, 2016 at 5:26 pmStone – because this blog post has totally won me over ???
December 11, 2016 at 6:42 pmI would so love a Hobo bag for my sister! I have the stone and love it, so stylish and versatile. My sister is job hunting and so needs a pick me up so the Black Hobo would be perfect for her!
December 11, 2016 at 7:01 pmAlways lovely to hear the awe inspiring back story to a successful Aussie business ! Would love the stone Hobo – it epitomises effortless style and practicality ! And I would be Pretty Chuffed to win !
December 11, 2016 at 7:17 pmOooh! The navy bag would fuel my current navy obsession and help me move on from my everything is black wardrobe!!
December 11, 2016 at 8:20 pmI’m going to be bold and say Hot Pink!
December 11, 2016 at 8:30 pmI believe my bag is a statement piece and hot pink says fiesty!! 🙂
Stone I could own and get on with my day, black would be classy and help me on my way, pink ohhhh to think that pink should be three, no, although all would be lovely, NAVY’s for me ?
December 11, 2016 at 8:46 pmStone goes with everything
December 11, 2016 at 9:27 pmLove Love Love all the colours of these fabulous bags. If I had to choose one, I would go for the stone! Oh that pink lining? Such a practical stylish bag at a fantastic price!
December 12, 2016 at 12:55 amStone. It’s stone cold awesome. People will see me and say “Stone the Crows! What An amazing bag!” . I too have a 3 year old daughter and my current everyday bag is just not able to carry enough My Little Pony dolls
December 12, 2016 at 5:01 amI love the hot pink! Who doesn’t like to stand out and in a house full of boys this mumma needs some pink in her life!
December 12, 2016 at 8:02 amI would love it in stone or black. Who am I kidding, I’d love it in any colour ?. It looks like it can carry all that life aka motherhood demands of a handbag
December 12, 2016 at 8:28 pmHi! I’d adore the stone bag. I’m desperate for a new “mum” bag and much to my horror, my husband has drawn my name for secret Santa Santa(!) – this would save him money and time and an upset wife on Christmas morning ?
December 13, 2016 at 3:19 pmThe hot pink looks gorgeous, it would be perfect for lugging my bits & pieces to and from my job as a Kindy teacher 🙂
December 13, 2016 at 3:22 pmStone would be amazing. I lost my fashion mojo at the bottom of my nappy bag. If you find it maybe beside the half chewed rusk stick let me know.
December 13, 2016 at 3:31 pmWow the Hot Pink is stunning and would replace my calico FDC bag I currently have just perfectly
December 13, 2016 at 3:33 pmThe stone bag is just stunning!! I can see it going with so many outfits in my wardrobe!! To be honest all the colours are gorgeous!! Any new bag is a good bag right!
December 13, 2016 at 3:34 pmI would always always say black but since turning 40 and with the new year approaching my word for 2017 is ‘different’ so instead of picking black I’m going with Stone.
December 13, 2016 at 3:37 pmI’d love some hot pink handbag action in my life, I need a carry everything bag, especially now we ha e two babies and a ton of stuff to tow around!!!!
December 13, 2016 at 3:38 pmI’d choose stone – it’s a perfect neutral for your pastels in summer and pops against darks in winter ? Adore this bag – it’s just the right size for mama life, still looks chic and stylish and the colours (all of them!) are just stunning
December 13, 2016 at 3:50 pmI have recently discovered a serious wardrobe hole? Having incorporated more navy into my closet I’m now lacking the right bag. The stone version would be perfect?
December 13, 2016 at 3:57 pmOn the 15th Day of Christmas Pretty Chuffed and Caramel and Co gave to me, an amazing Monaco Hobo stone coloured handbag to put under my tree! 😉
December 13, 2016 at 6:25 pmNavy, navy, navy, navy! Navy please, please, please, please, please please, I promise to be good, please, please, please can I have the navy? I’ll stop asking if you say yes. I’ll keep my room clean. I’ll eat all my dinner without whinging. I’ll sleep the whole night in my own bed. Please, please, please???? Navy, navy, navy, navy.
This method seems to work for my 4 kids so I thought it was worth a shot!
Great bag. Obviously I would love a navy one. Promise to love you 4eva!
December 13, 2016 at 7:26 pmWould love the stone colour as my new nappy bag. They are gorgeous.
December 13, 2016 at 7:57 pmStone! Ummm it’s gorgeous! If I was carrying that gorgwoua bag around I won’t have to worry about the extra indulgence over Christmas! ? Who’s going to look at my mum rum when they can look at my Monaco hobo!
December 13, 2016 at 9:50 pmGorgeous bags!! I would love the stone one. I live on a tiny island (considered to be part of NSW) where our median age of residents and tourists is 70+, hence I have to do all of my shopping online! Your IG account has been a Godsend for me and introduced me to some online stores that are now my go-to sites when I need/want to shop. I’m sure I’ll buy one of these bags if I don’t win, but this would be a great Christmas pressie to myself. ?
December 14, 2016 at 6:24 amSuch a beautiful bag! It’s the perfect mix of handbag vs baby bag!! I’d almost given up the search on finding a good bag for carrying all bubs stuff but looks like an amazing handbag as well!! Bub 2 on the way in 3 weeks, this would just be the best present!! I would LOVE the black xoxoxo
December 14, 2016 at 6:39 amI love the size of it, it’s great! I’ve just had a new baby and the stone one would be perfect to replace my old handbag I’ve used for my previous ones!
December 14, 2016 at 7:38 amOooohhhh! Such a tough choice with that colour range but I think the stone comes out on top! It’s so chic. My handbag is my security blanket – I feel like I can tackle anything with a well-stocked bag so needs to have plenty of room for my essentials and look fab too. My dress sense is quite simple so whatever bag I’m toting around gets noticed… and I’m sure this one would receive endless compliments. *madly adds to Christmas list*
December 15, 2016 at 3:19 pmI’d like the stone bag as I’ve bought a lot of navy clothes and would look very stylish with them. I’m starting to accessorise more as I never used to bother much but I can now see how it lifts an outfit and changes it up,
December 15, 2016 at 5:52 pmI’d love the black. Fashionable and practical. Would be perfect for this mum who is about to rejoin the workforce after 2.5 years off from having Bub. Away with the nappy bag! 🙂
December 15, 2016 at 6:01 pmI think I’d like the navy bag. It’s my favourite colour and goes with anything and always looks stunning.
December 15, 2016 at 6:03 pmMy new baby boy is sleeping on my chest
December 15, 2016 at 6:13 pmSo I think the pink bag would suit me best
To provide a pop of colour and fun-loving hue
And balance out my little man’s wardrobe of blue.
Love, Bec and Oscar Moore
Love the stone bag. It’s gorgeous bag. Thats the only colour I dont have in my wardrobe. It will match with any dressses.
December 15, 2016 at 6:26 pmChic French Navy for me please! Navy is the new black after all.
Just love the hot pink lining and am always a sucker for a good tassel!
December 15, 2016 at 6:39 pmThe stone would be an amazing colour addition to my wardrobe!
December 15, 2016 at 7:33 pmNavy Monaco Hobo please. I don’t own a navy bag and I think it’s an essential for summer! I have two small children and always switching bags between work and weekends, but this looks like it would be perfect for both!
