You might know by now that I love a good challenge, and when DFO Jindalee* asked me to complete three shopping challenges in order to see what I could find for under $100, I jumped at the chance. Today I bring you the second challenge – Christmas gifts for the whole family under $100. Yes, that’s right, I managed to buy Christmas gifts for nearly everyone on my list under $100. And for a little bit extra, I bagged some other great gifts too. Honestly, I think just about everyone is catered for at DFO. I found presents for brothers, mums, friends, and littlies, all within an hour and a half. Yep, that’s right people, I’m a speed-shopper! I find the DFO at Jindalee super easy to get around – it’s essentially a loop and you can’t really get lost. A tip I have is to have a quick look at the store plan when you first arrive (or before you arrive), which gives you more of an idea of where you might pick up gifts for everyone on your list.
So, what did I get for my $100?
First up, I stopped in at Form Home and picked up a gorgeous, on trend wooden paddle serving board for $18 (it was $45 with 60% off!). (While I was there, I picked up a pizza cutter I’d been looking for for a while – it was $4!) For part two of this gift, I stopped in at Can Do Books where I bought a ‘slow food’ cook book for only $6. Together with the paddle board, this would be the perfect gift for the new homeowner, home cook, master chef in the making or the entertainer. And for a tidy $24.
The next gift I picked up was from Pimp My Gadget. Lots of stuff here for the teenager, the young at heart, the smartphone fiend or the music lover on your list! I picked up an iPhone 5 car charger for $16. Bargain!
Of course, I had to stop in at Cotton On Kids. How could I not?! Here, I bought a super cute and quirky wind up torch for my niece. A great stocking stuffer for the little one in your life, and with 30% off full price it came down to $3.46.
Next up, I stopped in at Windsor Smith with the aim of buying some summer sandals for my teenaged sister. And bingo, $28 later and I was walking out with a new season pair of Lipstik-branded slides that I think she will love. (I have the exact same pair!)
And we can’t forget the brother. I made a quick stop along the way at Connor to check out their $9.95 polo shirts (the classic gift for dad) then swung round to Industrie clothing, where they had a whole stack of on trend short boardies on sale for $25 and $29. I picked up an awesome Hawaiian print pair for $29.
All up, a total of $100.46! Five gifts for a wide range of ages and tastes, and a cracking good start on checking off the Chrissy list!
Apart from these gifts, what else did I buy on my trip?
I also stopped in at Cosmetics Fragrances Direct and picked up a super cute citronella outdoor candle for $8, and at Pimp My Gadget I bagged a waterproof Bluetooth speaker for $25. I don’t know any smartphone-loving person who wouldn’t appreciate a bit of music in the shower (or by the pool or at the beach!). I love a gift you can use straight away.
Also at Cotton On Kids I picked up a dress and necklace for my niece with 30% off and a playsuit for Hannah.
And that was my shopping for the day! All in all, a successful start to my Christmas purchases, and I saved a substantial amount of money. Did I also mention I got a park straight away and Hannah didn’t tantrum until after I’d finished shopping and we were in the car park? #winning
Check out DFO Jindalee’s store list (so you can totally pre-plan your shopping trip) here.
{*Disclosure: this is a sponsored post for DFO Jindalee, yet all items are completely of my choosing and opinions are mine.}
Are you finished your Christmas shopping? Are you a speed-shopper or do you like to take your time perusing?
