I’ve been a GlamCorner customer for a while – renting is my go-to for a special occasion outfit. I love wearing something a bit special for an event – especially weddings or big birthdays. It’s a great way to wear designer without the price tag, and of course it’s better for the environment as you are not buying new all the time.
So when GlamCorner contacted me to ask if I’d trial their membership box system, I didn’t hesitate to say yes!
GlamCorner’s membership box is advertised as a ‘monthly box of designer clothing tailored for your work, everyday and anything in between’ wardrobes. Although I don’t work outside of the home, I did in fact use the opportunity to hire some outfits that would work for a content shoot I had planned, so I looked for neutral tones and simple lines to go with accessories I had to photograph (with the amazing Kate Luke Photography).
Basically, each month you have a box and you can select items to be included in the box which is sent to you. You can then return it and select more items. There is two membership tiers (read more about them here) – the Starter level of $99 per month which is one box per month of 3 items; or the $149 Unlimited level which is 3 items per box and unlimited boxes per month. I was gifted a trial of the Unlimited tier, and with the way timing worked, I ordered two seperate boxes with three items each (six items). You could definitely easily get three boxes in – the way my photoshoots worked I just needed them longer.
Here’s what I ordered in my first box!
Talulah Wild Honey mini dress size 10 (RRP $240)
Nicholas Jennifer Jacket and Amy Shorts set size 12 (RRP $970)
Pasduchas Golden Hour Dress size 12 (RRP $319)
My tips are to read the reviews and to choose sizing based on that, along with the measurements provided with each item. I sized up in the Pasduchas dress and I am glad I did, it was a small fit.
In my second box, of which I am yet to take photos I received these (one dress I am wearing on Saturday so I will have pics then!
Talulah Mediterranean Minx mini dress size 10 (RRP $280)
Suboo Lila button wrap dress size 10 (RRP$289)
Keepsake Wistful midi dress size 10 (RRP $239)
With these, I absolutely love the Talulah and Suboo dresses however the keepsake one doesn’t fit. In that case, I would have to send the whole box back to swap out the size which is a bit of a shame. However, with five out of six items fitting perfectly I can’t complain!
The process of ordering
Selecting your items and ordering your box is easy. I went through the membership section after filtering by size and ‘available now’ of the GlamCorner site and added lots of my favourites to my box. Then I went through and whittled them down to my three favourites. I then clicked to order my box and that was done.
After ordering the box, I received confirmation emails from both GlamCorner and Australia Post so I was very up to date with what was happening. From ordering to receiving my box it was about 24 hours so that was amazing!
The items arrived well packed and freshly washed as I was super happy to rip open the box and try them all on!
The verdict
So would I order again? Absolutely! I think if I was working in an office it would be an absolute no brainer. For me, in festive season or when we eventually have more events on, I think it’s such a good option. It’s more cost effective than hiring piecemeal, and it’s a fabulous way to step out of your comfort zone with pieces as well. And I usually find with hiring that I wish I could wear the pieces again but you usually have to swiftly return – with the boxes you can have them as long as you like and wear them multiple times!
