I love a good jacket, however living in Brisbane I don’t often get to wear them. For the month when it is cool (hah!) I love to wear my knits, jeans and jackets to death. And this winter, I have two new jacket styles that I can’t wait to try out.
They’re two relatively new styles that I’m looking forward to styling in different outfits.
Im talking about the checked/tweed jacket and the military inspired jacket – both totally wearable and easy to fit into your every day style.
Here’s just two ways I’ll wear them, plus a few more similar buys you might be interested in.
TWEED
One of the more ubiquitous jacket/blazer styles this year is the tweed jacket. Surprisingly versatile – you can dress this up or down, and pair with colours or neutrals. Also a fabulous easy look for work, too. I’ve paired it with a simple white top, jeans and sneakers for a cool take on 80s style.
MILITARY STYLE
Military style elements in an item of clothing can make a big impact to an outfit. Combine that with metallics or embellishment and you’ve got something that can pack a big punch. However, with this jacket, the uniqueness comes with its subtlety. It adds interest and dresses up a simple outfit, yet doesn’t overwhelm. This jacket also has a cool casual vibe to it which lends to both dressier and casual outfits.
