A few weeks I featured fun flats on the blog and I have to apologise. There was one notable omission. You see, I’ve only just become familiar with Avarcas, and I don’t know what I did before I knew them.
I don’t know how I’ve lived this long on earth without coming into contact with these supremely comfy flats, but now we’re acquainted (well, we’re totally best friends now), there’s no going back. I’d like to once again apologise because you’re going to be seeing these bad boys A WHOLE LOT from now on, as not are they ridiculously comfortable, they go with everything, they’re leather and oh, did I mention mine have GLITTER. If that’s not a ‘fun flat’, I don’t know what is.
Avarcas Australia began last year, as the brainchild of Naomi (Nae), who wanted to bring these amazingly comfy shoes to Australia. Made in Menorca, Spain; Avarcas can take you to any occasion, and as Nae says, she takes hers from the farm, to a business meeting, to a night out with friends – seamlessly.
So, how I have I found them? For the past week I’ve been wearing these babies behind the scenes – around the house and out and about, and I must say they are so COMFY. I chose the multi-glitter style and they’ve gained many a loving gaze and compliments. Plus, they really do go back with anything.
I’ve styled three different Avarcas in outfits today – and as you can see it’s super easy to wear them casually or with more dressed up outfits. They go really well with jeans, but I also love the look and feel with a dress. They’re totally fine for most of our Brisbane winter days – the front section keeps your toes warm, however I think these babies will come into their own in Spring and Summer. In terms of price, they are $110 (or $120 for the wedge heel version). Mine were $110 (here), in a size 37 which is my usual size in sandals/open toe shoes (or 6.5/7). I have to always think long and hard about featuring items over $100 – but these shoes are worth the spend. They’re so well crafted, a beautiful leather, and did I mention – comfort?! Oh my goodness, so many gorgeous colours. I love how a statement pair of shoes can lift the ‘mum uniform’ into a stylish outfit. Bonus points for glitter and comfort – ain’t nobody got time for uncomfortable shoes when chasing kids. I’d love the bronze glitter. Actually, who am I kidding, I’d love any of them!

After just welcoming our second (and huge miracle) baby I’ve found that my foot has weirdly grown a little wider and shoes have become a little uncomfortable but I’m sure a new pair of Avarcas Australia would not only help with that issue but give me instant yummy mummy status (and jazz up my outfits to make it look like I’m a bit more put together than the all nighters my little one is pulling at the moment!)

July 23, 2017 at 8:45 pmI’ve actually given up buying shoes in stores… I’m a size 5 and apparently we should be shopping in the kids section!(plus I’m a school teacher so this is not really an option for me!) So many stores don’t bother stocking smaller than a 6 and others only get one size 5 in. I’ve always had to ask ‘what shoe comes in a 5’ rather than choosing a pair I like. So glad to see a store stocking my size ? I’d love to win but if not I’ll be back to buy a pair anyway!

I love the Rose Gold… its hard to choose between the flat and the wedge but I think when push comes to shove I’d spend my whole summer in the flats, so Rose Gold Flats it is!! Why? So, I’m feeling the need to sass it up a bit with the yellow and navy OR go the versatile tan, which is gorgy! Saying that, the glitter would for sure make my kids focus on me! “Look at moi! It’s an almost impossible choice to pick a favourite, leopard print is a staple – you can call it a neutral. So too the rose gold.

They are all gorgeous but as I am currently sharing shoes with my 12 year old – until she outgrows me – I think the tan would be perfect (she’s much more sensible than me!)
