At the end of last month, we took little family holiday to Sydney to visit family. Before kids, we used to travel interstate now and then – Melbourne and Sydney our usual destinations – visiting family, weddings, birthday parties and rugby games were usually on the agenda. But since having children we have put a bit of a halt to the travel, and Herm and I both miss it. So, last month we booked a relatively last minute trip to Sydney for the Australia Day weekend. We didn’t have any specific plans, minus visiting family and friends, so it was a nice casual trip.
We stayed with Herman’s cousins a few nights, then went and visited my nan and pop, then finally spent our last night in Surry Hills, which was fun. Our girls we quite well behaved the whole trip, however they didn’t sleep very well anywhere we went, so we were all a bit tired. Just the usual, really!
I also finally got the chance to visit St Frock’s retail store in Pyrmont whilst I was visiting a friend (such a cute shop if you’re ever in the area!)
And what did I wear? We actually took only one suitcase for all four of us, so I had to pack relatively light. I ended up working with denim, black, white and blues, with a couple of brights and prints mixed in. I took about five pairs of shoes (I know…) but I actually only wore two pairs! I find a pair of dressier, comfortable espadrilles an absolute perfect travel shoe as they can be dressed up or down so easily. The ones I’m wearing here are last season, however there are similar about at the moment. Here’s what I wore for our little Sydney trip.
