I’m not one to shy away from a pleated skirt (see here!) and after wearing my gold one almost to death (see one of my fave outfits here) I was looking forward to wearing another one. I saw this silver metallic number on SheIn and I couldn’t wait to style it. I thought I’d also share some tips on styling these little numbers, as there are quite a few around at the moment.
The skirt I’m wearing is a lovely soft fabric and totally great for today’s ‘twirl worthy’ prompt with Mother Frokker’s #rockmystylefeb challenge. It’s also a great length for me, and I’m wearing an L.
Today I’ve styled it with a simple white tee – this one is a new favourite from The Assembly Label – it’s part linen and is amazing on. A pair of lace up espadrilles and sunnies and I’m done!
If I was to style this for night, I’d pair it with a black off the shoulder top and heels, a colourful clutch and hair curled. Or style it another way with a rock tee and some sneakers. Then when it cools down, simply add a sweater and ankle boots – done.

Top tips – how to wear a pleated skirt:
1. For the easiest styling, pair with a plain coloured tee and lace up flats.
2. Add a blouse and enclosed pumps for office wear.
3. Try a button up shirt tied at the waist, if you’re not into tucking.
4. A high waisted skirt also looks great with a cropped top if you’re comfortable wearing one.
5. Wooly knit jumpers look fab with the contrast of a pleated skirt – check out my Pinterest board for Inspo.
6. Pleated skirts look amazing with band tees – check out my post here for some ideas.
7. Don’t be afraid to pair a midi length skirt with flats – it’s all the rage right now.
8. Metallics are still big news, but if that’s not your thing try a deep navy pleated skirt or a gorgeous dusty pink which are also huge this season.
