Stylefeed Zip Front Breastfeeding Dress | What I’m Wearing

November 21, 2016

Breastfeeding-friendly clothes have been the topic of many posts over here at Pretty Chuffed.  Since late 2013, I have been breastfeeding most of the time – with only a short hiatus while pregnant last year! It’s been a long ride, and I’ve certainly picked up quite a few ideas about what to wear – and what not to wear – while breastfeeding, to make breastfeeding easier.

I’ve written about my favourite styles of clothing to wear while breastfeeding here and at Styling You here. One of the styles of clothing I named was zip fronts – they’re just super easy for access.

I came across this gorgeous chambray/leopard print dress on Instagram and at first I did not realise it was a breastfeeding specific item. I’ve mentioned before that I’m usually not too keen on ‘nursing specific’ clothes as they’re usually made for maternity first, and feeding second; and to be honest most of them are not very fashionable, and are not designed with a post-baby body in mind.

So, you can imagine my surprise when I found Stylefeed! This Brisbane-based label is doing fashionable nursing-wear at a great price. The dress I’m wearing in this post is $69, which I think is well worth the cash. It can be worn long after feeding stops, and is a light, comfortable, yet quality tencel which means I’ll be wearing it summer with sandals, and winter with a leather jacket and ankle boots!

The internal panel sets this dress apart from the other zip front dresses you’ll find on the market – it’s designed to allow you to feed whilst not exposing your whole bust area. I’m still feeding my one-year old and found it easy to feed in, and the panel meant I didn’t feel exposed whilst unzipping in public.

The fabric itself feels high quality and the print is subtle yet on-trend, and I felt great getting out and about today.

As for fit, I’m wearing the S which is around an 8. It’s firm around the bust, but is quite loose fitting from there down. I think I would have needed the M when I first started feeding Audrey, however I like the fit of the S, right now. The length is good too – I’m 158cm tall and it is just below my knee at the longest part so would be good for taller gals.

On inspecting the care label I found it was 100% tencel and, made in Australia! That’s so rare these days. Well done, Stylefeed.

All in all, a great little dress and for the price I think it’s really worth the money. I’m thinking it would also make a really fab gift for any breastfeeding mamas on your Christmas list too.
