The colour pink and I have had a tumultuous relationship. As a very young child, I was obsessed with pink – everything I owned was pink. My clothes, my bedspread, my shoes, my cassette player (yes, I’m that old!).
Then, during mid-childhood I discovered music and this was the 1990s, grunge era. I fell in love with black. My favourite outfits included a black a-line mini skirt, black boots and a black t-shirt. With obligatory velvet choker. I was 10 years old, mind you. Pink and I never really had a relationship after that. We were long lost lovers. Until recently.
Yes, I have two girls and yes they both have a lot of pink (despite my vow to never buy them pink clothes, whoops). But this season, the soft dusty pink and mauve that’s really in right now has just GOT ME. I love it and I’m not ashamed to say it!
This week’s wish list features a few pink finds that would be amazing in any spring wardrobe, but would also work really well to bring a feminine vibe to any winter wardrobe. Team the dress with tan boots and a soft cream jacket or cardigan now, and then the lace up heels come spring.
