I am proudly ambassador for Avarcas Australia {sponsored}
Many moons ago, when I was a teenager, I remember saying to a friend: ‘I don’t think I will ever wear leopard print.’ It was like one of those ‘When I have children they will never have tantrums’ kind of comments that you say before you even have experience with the said thing (and realise that you were totally wrong). This was so true about my experience with leopard print.
When I was in my early ‘working in an office’ days, I was looking for a way to break up my black, white, navy and striped corporate outfits. One day, I decided to say “HELLO” to a pair of leopard print shoes, and I’ve never looked back. Many years later, I now treat leopard print as a neutral, it really does go with everything.
It’s also the perfect way to add a bit of fun, a bit of polish to an everyday casual outfit, and my mum uniform. And today, I’m showing off my brand new leopard print Avarcas that I simply ADORE.
You’ve read about my love of Avarcas before (see my other blog posts here) and most recently my discovery of Avarcas wedges, and today I’m trying on my leopard print Avarcas for you with a number of outfits, to show you just how versatile they can be.
And I must say – these Avarcas are just as high quality as my previous pairs, which I wear at least every second day. For me they are the perfect throw on and go ‘mum shoe’ – they look polished but have all the comfort of sandals. They’re leather so they breathe, yet are warm enough for me to wear through cooler days.
As for sizing, in Avarcas I wear size 37 and this is perfect for me. I tend to fluctuate between 6 and 7 in most open-toed shoes and sneakers, and 38 or 7.5 in boots.
The leopard print is actually a printed cowhide (not leopard..hah!), and they are supremely comfortable. As per my tan wedges, I find the 4cm heel height perfect for everyday, and if you’re not used to wearing a heel I think you would still find them easy to wear and comfortable.
So, what would I pair them with? Well, read on, and hopefully I’ve given you some inspiration to pair leopard print with just about everything.

Wear them with denim
Just pair with your fave denim jeans/shorts/skirt and a tee and you are set. Add a chunky knit when it cools down a bit.
Wear them with bright colour
Mustard is a dream with leopard print, but so is navy, forest green, burgundy, pink, teal, orange and purple. Amazing!
Wear them with florals
I love mixing prints and leopard print works so well with stripes or florals. Just ensure the florals are of a similar earthy tone and it tends to work better.
Wear them with black
A match made in heaven. I’ve paired them with an old black drop waist dress which would be a totally appropriate work outfit if you didn’t need to be too corporate.
What’s your favourite way to wear leopard print? Do you have a pair of Avarcas and if so, which is your favourite colour or style?
