Johnny Bigg – Affordable Style for the Bigger Guy | Pretty Chuffed Man

    June 16, 2016

Brought to you by Johhny Bigg

So, it’s finally happened – I’ve finally roped my very own Instagram Husband Herman into an outfit post. Yessss! This time, I got to wield the camera and he got his revenge, requesting backgrounds and angles. Actually, I quite enjoyed it and I think he did too {secretly}.

This time, in the first Pretty Chuffed Man post, we’re featuring two outfits from Johnny Bigg. Now, if you haven’t heard of Johnny Bigg, and you have a bigger and/or taller man in your life, then listen up. Johnny Bigg is all about on-trend style for the bigger man, at great price points.

Previous to this post, I’d come across Johnny Bigg through social media and purchased a pair of shoes and a few shirts for the hubby, after discovering they stocked his size (he is usually an 2XL and size 40-42 pants, and is about 183cm tall).

You see, hubby’s a larger man that still likes to look fashionable and young. An ex-professional rugby player, his body proportions rarely fit the usual Aussie men’s retailers moulds. Usually the more ‘fashionable’ shops stop at an XL or a 38. Shopping for him has previously been a nightmare and in the past we’ve had to buy a lot of his clothes online from international retailers.

When I first met Herman, he was wearing DIY jeans (that actually were pretty cool at the time!) and a plain t-shirt. I soon learnt this was out of necessity – the options for him at the ‘normal’ fashion retailers were slim. When he started to work in a corporate environment, we had a lot of suiting made by a tailor (expensive!) and shirts that fit around the neck looked like tents, so we had to have them taken in, too. Basically, it was never easy, and hence I was almost ecstatic when I discovered Johnny Bigg.

Johnny Bigg stocks suiting, shirts, denim, casual wear and shoes and accessories, all at great price points and in seasonal, on-trend styles. The business shirts we bought were well-fitting and good quality, and because they were affordable, hubby could try out a few different colours and patterns that he wouldn’t normally be able to buy. The shoes were on trend and fit well.

As we were super happy with our purchases, I contacted Johnny Bigg to see if we could try out some new season gear and talk about it at Pretty Chuffed. Johnny Bigg agreed and hubby selected two outfits that he would wear to various occasions, and here he is modelling them for you (go hubby!). I must add in here that Herman is quite picky with his clothes and jeans (especially), and he was genuinely, pleasantly surprised at just how well these items fit, and how great they looked. He even wore the smart casual outfit to a family wedding this weekend past – he just dressed it up with a navy jacket. If you’ve got a bigger and/or taller man in your life, you need to check Johnny Bigg out.
