Shades of Blue | What I’m Wearing

February 21, 2016

Although I’m relatively short in stature (158cm or 5ft 2.5″), I’ve learnt over the years that I naturally gravitate to maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are a practical dress for me – they don’t ride up or fly up when picking up children and can look instantly ‘dressed’ and polished. They’re also great when you have a number of different occasions to attend in the one day, as they can easily transfer from day to night.

Today we had to do a few errands before attending a family function in the park and this ‘Byron’ maxi from St Frock was perfect for the occasion. This maxi dress is great if you are a bit on the shorter side too, as it is a moderate ‘high-low’ style which is shorter at the front (also great for showing off shoes!). The print is blue with pops of tan and red so can easily be paired with tan, neutral or coloured accessories. I chose neutral lace up sandals and a navy clutch.

I must tell you about this clutch! Local label The Red Letter Club is so innovative – this clutch is actually reversible. The inside is black and it is easily flipped inside out and you have a beautifully simple black clutch – so that’s two for the price of one! Wouldn’t this be a great clutch for travelling – no need to pack more than one clutch to match outfits. I wish I’d discovered their bags earlier! They also do totes and wallets if you’re not a clutch person. Amazing! Hope you have had a great weekend so far xx
