Hawaii Travel Tips – Your Advice Needed!

    February 28, 2015

Where’s the one place on earth you’ve always wanted to visit?

If you’ve been reading for a while, you might have noticed that I have been mentioning the fact we are off to Hawaii for a holiday very soon. Well, in fact, we are off in three weeks from today! I have wanted to go to Hawaii since, oh, just after I entered this world as a newborn. – well perhaps not that long but it feels like I’ve wanted to go for a really long time! I’ve always said I’d love to go before I turned 30, and, not one to do things unless under pressure, I turn 30 in April! So anyway, we managed to score some ridiculously cheap flights in the Jetstar sale and cheap accomodation through AirBnb and the Outrigger at Waikiki, which was having an epic 72 hour sale (we even managed to get some fandangled-ocean-view room, the sale was that good).

Now, the travel insurance has been paid for, our temporary visas have been sorted and now with the three week countdown well and truly under way, I’m sorting out some ideas for a rough itinerary for my husband, 14 month old Hannah and I; and my husband’s brother and his wife and daughter.

And that’s where I need your help! If you’ve been to Hawaii, and specifically Oahu and/or Waikiki, tell me: what should we do? What shouldn’t we bother with? What should I pack? What should we eat? Your feedback is welcome! Especially if you have great ideas for cheap and cheerful things to do with two children under 3, that would be great (but not essential!). I’ve picked up some great ideas from Fat Mum Slim, and also this post here, but I’d really like to hear from you.

So far, this is the list of ideas we’ve been given or I’ve researched, and we’re there for 10 days so I think I really need to narrow this down – can you help?
