Bad hair day? Too hot to even think about doing your hair? Humidity so high you’re melting? Day at the park with the kids? You’re going to need a hat. I love hats of all shapes and sizes, but this season I’ve really had my eye on two kinds – the Panama Hat and the oversized fedora. The shape first came into vogue again in winter, as the felt version is the perfect alternative to the oversized floppy hat for keeping warm, or wearing to the winter racing carnival.
Now it’s summer and you’re going to want a straw version. A great hat can really set off a summer casual outfit – wear it with a kaftan and your togs, or shorts and a striped tshirt for easy style. I love them especially with monochrome looks. And the best thing is – they’re super practical and sun safe – because we all know sunburn is so not cool (figuratively and literally!).
