Fast Five With Fashionista in Suburbia | Talking Bargains

October 1, 2014

I first came across the fabulous Barbe of Fashionista in Suburbia a couple of years ago through Instagram (@fashionista_in_suburbia) – perhaps through one of the early Fox in Flats style dares I think – and have followed her ever since (stalker alert ;)). Barbe has an awesome sense of style – pairing cool yet feminine pieces with a definite edge, often with a touch of leather, sequins and leopard. And heels. Yep, she’s pretty darn cool. Barbe’s blog follows her fashionable adventures, and is certainly worth a look, if you haven’t already. I was very grateful Barbe had a few minutes to spare as we chatted bargains and must-haves for today’s Fast Five – so without further ado, here’s the Fast Five With Barbe of Fashionista in Suburbia!

1. You’re headed on a mystery weekend away! What are the first three things you throw in your weekend bag?

My Iphone!! To take photos, to check social media and to write a quick post. Oh and to call home of course.

My credit card. No explanation needed.

Sunnies! I have sunnies everywhere around the house, in my bedside drawer and several in the car. I am forever putting them down somewhere and forgetting where I put them. These are to hide the No-make-up-because-I-am-on-holidays-face.

2. What’s your Spring must-have?

I am ready for red hot WHITE. After wearing predominately black over Winter, I would like to welcome Spring in style wearing white on white. Cool, classic and on trend.

3. What’s currently at the top of your wardrobe wish list?

I am currently looking for an outfit that will work for 3 different occasions:

1. A Race Day

2. A ladies lunch fundraiser

3. Melbourne cup lunch (and maybe some Christmas parties??)

So on my wish list is the right outfit for these occasions. Not that easy!

4. What’s your best ever bargain?

No doubt the cute ankle boots I bought for $30 at the markets. The girl I bought them from told me she bought them in Paris (yeah right) but unfortunately bought them too small. I walked away, googled the brand and they were selling for over $400! I bought them quick smart!

5. You’ve got $100 to splash on yourself. Where do you click or visit first?

Oohh a facial!!! Yup.
